Bostonis a wonderful place to visit. We enjoy driving so we can see other places onthe there or on the way home. A trip to New York on the way home is amazing.

Ienjoy Boston the week of 4^th of July. The fireworks over Boston is awonderful place to visit. Charles River is wonderful. The fireworks have teacups, smiley faces, and planets in them. Make sure you bring your camera. Thereis music and food and lots of fun. Also this 4^th of July is the onlyday you will see the USS Constitution sail.

SkywalkObservatory on the 50^th floor in the Prudential Center building onBoylston Plaza. There is a 360 degree view of Boston. There are these flipphone looking things that will tell you about every section around the floor. Ihave some really amazing pictures from there. A camera with a good zoom worksreally well. You can zoom in and get great pictures.

BostonPublic Gardens is a whole day thing. It is beautiful in the summer. Everythingis blooming. There are Swan Boats to ride and real swans to see. There is theTadpole Playground for the little ones. If you plan to take the little ones tothe playground, bring their swimsuit. There is water for them to play in butdon’t worry mom it isn’t very deep. It’s a little over an adults ankles.

FenwayPark is a great place to visit even if you don’t like baseball. They have toursof the park and tell the history of the park. They will take your picture whenyou get to the top so that the press box is behind you. The pictures aren’t abad price either. I’m glad we got the pictures.

Cheersis a cool place to visit. The food and service are great. There is also a giftshop with some cool stuff. Of course they have the normal stuff too. I have apink t-shirt and the glass I got my drink in. There are some pretty coollooking shot glasses for you collectors.

Thewhale watching cruise is amazing!! You will definitely want to have your camerafor this. The cruise can be 3 to 5 hours. Try to plan this early in your trip.You are guaranteed to see whales or they will give a free trip back out. Youwill also see Boston Light on the way out. It’s the only still workinglighthouse. I got a picture with the light on!! There is food and drinks andrestrooms of course on the boat. You can stand or sit outside or inside. If youchoose to sit or stand outside, please remember your sun block. I didn’t andhad a sunburn for the rest of my vacation. There are other shorter cruises youcan go on if you don’t want to be out on the water that long. Still use sunblock. I can’t say this enough. We did the cruise our 2^nd day thereand I had to deal with the sunburn the rest of the week. If the going out onthe water isn’t the thing for you, just walk around the harbor and check outthe boats and view.

AcornStreet is really cool. They offer tours for this for we decided to go on ourown. Well I had to get out the smart phone to use navigation. We just couldn’tfind the street. With the help of my phone, we realized we walked past it twice.The trees were hiding the sign.

Thereare lots of things to do in Boston. The ones I listed are my favorites. Amazonsells a book called Walking Boston. I found it to be very helpful.

Mytips:

Planwell in advance.

Doyour research and find things that your family will enjoy. Make a list ofeverything and then talk to your family to make sure everyone agrees.

Make2 list. The first list is the one for things that you must do. The main reasonsyou went to Boston for vacation. The second list is what my son started callingthe If-In-Timers. This is a list of things you would like to do if you havetime but can go without doing if time becomes a problem.

Planone or two big things for each day. Don’t over do it. Vacations are to spendtime together not to have everyone stressed and grumpy.

Buytickets for the main things in advance if possible. This way you will have todo the main things you went to Boston to do. We knew we wanted to go to 2baseball games and the whale watching cruise so we got our tickets for thoseevents.

Ifyou are staying right in Boston, check to see how much extra the hotel chargesfor parking. I found it ran from $25 to $60 a day. We decided to stay in anearby town. Although we had to still pay for parking, the rooms can be morethan half the price less than the hotels in Boston. The hotel was very quietand we didn’t have to pay the hotel we were staying at to park our vehicle. Ifyou decide to stay in a nearby town, it is a good idea to look for one with 24hour room service. We made sure we had a good breakfast before we left thehotel. We didn’t have little ones to feed so we would get wrapped up with whatwe were doing and not eat. When we got back to the hotel, we would be hungryand order room service.

That’sall for my tips. The main thing is that you have fun and enjoy the time withyour family no matter where you decide to go. Safe traveling!!
